    Description

Effective on April 1, 1930, Charlotte was embraced as a stop on Contract Air Mail Route 19, receiving northbound service by the night plane and southbound service by the day plane.
This cover was carried on the inaugural Contract Air Mail Route 19 flight from Charlotte, North Carolina to Atlanta, Georgia (where it was backstamped) and is listed in the Contract Air Mail Flights (CAM) Section of The American Air Mail Catalogue as 19S15.
The envelope has the checkerboard air mail border, printed by the infamous A.C. Roessler.
