    Description

Delta Airlines expanded its service to upstate New York on March 15, 1989, with flights to Rochester and
Syracuse. All flights involving the new points originated in Atlanta and made scheduled stops at both
    Rochester and Syracuse.
    Philatelic treatment was not requested.
Collector covers were carried between Rochester and Atlanta on Flight #1203 whose itinerary was
    Atlanta-Syracuse-Rochester-Atlanta. Delta Flight #1248, Atlanta-Rochester-Syracuse-Atlanta, carried
covers on two segments: Rochester to Syracuse and Syracuse to Atlanta. DC-9 equipment was utilized
    on the inaugural.
    This cover was one of
    only 27 pieces of mail
carried on the inaugural Delta Airlines flight from the Rochester, New York Airport Mail Facility to Syracuse, New York (where it was backstamped)
    and
is listed in The American Air Mail Catalogue as DL-D87Wf.
